Shakespeare Group 1

Status:Active, open to new members
Coordinator:
When: Weekly on Tuesday mornings 10:00 am-12:00 pm
October to April
Venue: Woodthorpe Library

The aim of this group is to demystify Shakespeare. He’s reckoned the greatest creative mind in our history but many of us were put off him at school and may have wondered since what all the fuss was about. This is your chance to find out.

We take a ‘hands-on’ approach to some of his greatest plays, and carefully go through the text until we can grasp the story and get to understand the characters, and what they are saying. In the process we’ll look at some fascinating related issues – some of the literary techniques he uses, and something about the times in which he lived.
